INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN RYT BOARD MEMBER?
We are always looking for additional board members to help guide this volunteer organization. This is an excellent way to be part of the local theatre scene in the Comox Valley and the rewards are great as we continue to produce high-caliber, youth-focused, musical and dramatic theatre.
RYT has been going strong since 1988 thanks to people like you in our community who share a love for theatre and kids! RYT builds character both on and off the stage! Contact info@rainbowtheatre.com for more information.

2011 Recipient - PAIGE FRASER
Rainbow Youth Theatre is proud to present both the 2011 Betty Dixon Memorial Bursary and the Thelma Oliver Memorial Bursary to PAIGE FRASER of GP Vanier Secondary School (photographed here with RYT Vice President, Myrna J Wallace).
Paige has always been drawn to the performing arts and in the last four years she has been very active in the Comox Valley. While attending G. P. Vanier Secondary School she was heavily involved in the senior improv team, placing first in the National Improv Tournament two years in a row. Paige has also been busy performing in the Vanier musicals 'Seussical' and 'Crazy For You'; the concert choir and vocal jazz programs as well as the Vanier dance program. Outside of school, Paige sang with Cantiamo Chamber Ensemble and danced tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and musical theatre with Pantuso Dance. She has also participated in shows with Light Fantastic Productions, CYMC, TheatreWorks, assisted backstage with Rainbow Youth Theatre's 'Grease' and performed as 'The Artful Dodger' in Rainbow Youth Theatre's production of 'Oliver!'
In the fall of 2011, Paige will be enrolled in the Musical Theatre Program at Capilano University in Vancouver. There she will continue to hone her craft into a professional career in musical theatre performance. RYT wishes Paige every success in her post secondary studies and encourages her to follow her dreams, wherever they lead. Congratulations Paige!
RYT PAST PRESIDENT AND FOUNDING BOARD MEMBER HONOURED
On the closing night of The Wizard of Oz, Mike Butler, one of the founding members of RYT in 1988, was presented with a “silver seat plaque” to be installed at the Sid Williams Theatre. Mike has been a “permanent fixture” in the local theatre community for decades and he has touched the life of many of the Valley’s young thespians. Mike continues to work tirelessly to keep RYT and other theatre groups producing excellent community theatre. Mike truly inspires the slogan “RYT, character building for over 21 years!”
